 NORTHERN CHUGACH
Lodge

Our Sheep Mountain Lodge

utilizes the best of the Northern Chugach Terrain

Snow is generally lighter and weather can occasionally be better on the interior side when the classic Alaskan storms that bring us the powder we all want is pounding the coast and preventing us from flying.

The Sheep Mountain Lodge, located just minutes from the Matanuska Glacier, and some of the biggest peaks in the Chugach, provides the perfect location for your North Chugach Private Heli Trip.

Premier Cabins

Our 4 beautifully handcrafted Premier cabins have full kitchen and private bath/shower, overlook the scenic Matanuska River Valley. Each cabin has two queen beds and a full size pull out sleeper sofa, table, chairs, and a deck with chairs.  Enjoy spectacular views of the Matanuska Valley and Chugach Mountains, and of course your own private Helicopter right outside your cabin.  If desiring you very own Private Cabin within your group, we also have our single standard Classic Cabins available.

Classic Cabins

We have 7 cozy classic cabins have private bath/shower  and overlook the scenic Matanuska River Valley. These cabins have a queen bed (5 cabins also have a twin bed), table, chairs, deck with chairs, small refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker. Look for Dall Sheep from the deck of your cabin on the nearby mountain-side.

The Restaurant

The lodge restaurant features fresh Alaska seafood, steaks and homemade desserts. Fresh-baked cinnamon rolls, cookies, strawberry-rhubarb pie and sourdough bread, are our specialties. We proudly serve Alaskan Brewing Co. beers from Juneau, a variety of foreign beers, and selection of domestic wines.

We provide great home-cooked meals from our menu in our well kept clean log lodge.  The freshest ingredients- from  hand-picked rhubarb, to Matanuska grown carrots and fresh caught Alaska wild salmon, we think it makes a difference in taste to source locally.  We buy most of our produce from farmers in the agricultural community of Palmer when in season.  We hope you will taste the difference.
